1000 Islands Campground: Perfect Base for River Exploring
We really enjoyed our stay at 1000 Islands Campground . It’s basically central to both Alexandria Bay and Clayton, so being right in the middle allowed us to plan activities along the river without having to worry about being gone too long from the dogs. It also has a market and ice cream shop right at the front of the park - you know we had to go try that!!
They had both Hershey’s ice cream and soft serve and they charged reasonable prices for the amount they serve! We ended up having ice cream twice that week.
We posted about how our site had been flooded with the several inches of rain that poured down on that area the day we arrived. Once our site dried out, it was wonderful!
We would absolutely stay in this park again.
