Campgrounds charging for electricity usage?
Are you seeing campgrounds charging for electricity usage? We stayed overnight at a park north of Lexington, KY who charges a $5 DAILY deposit for electricity usage.
Any usage over that is charged to your card when you check out and any amount less than $5 a day is refunded. We got a $2.66 refund.
The park attendant said that they had lots of people trying to charge their electric vehicles and using huge amounts of electricity in just one night (like $30+). The way they handled this is interesting and seemingly fair to all but this was certainly a first for us.
