Big Bend National Park Part V
Our fourth trip to Big Bend during our stay in Terlingua, TX led us up the Chisos Mountains to a second visitor center. As you head up the mountain, you see the landscape change from desert to forest. It’s a slow change, but once you realize the change, you’re awestruck!
Getting out of the car at the visitors center, you also realize that the 4000 foot change in elevation also has a relevant temperature change of ~15º.
The highlight of this visitors center is most certainly Window View Trail . It’s a very short, paved path that gives you an amazing view of the Chisos Basin and that of the desert beyond through a window in the mountains.
