Childhood Dreams Come True in Vermont
The route leaving the 1000 Islands is taking us as close as we’ll get to Canada this year! We were maybe 50 yards from the border.
We’re headed to the great state of Vermont! I’ve been fascinated with Vermont since I was a kid, so let’s hope it lives up to the hype! Pretty sure the appeal of this state started when I learned the state capitals - “Montpelier” is very different!
Our campground for the week is small and we’re in one of the largest sites they have. It was a bit harrowing getting parked as you have to make a left turn going around a rock formation and up a hill to get to the camping sites. But somehow we made it unscathed and the neighborhood welcoming committee was the first to greet us at our site.
