Exploring Munising Falls
If you’re in Munising a quick and easy place to get to for an afternoon outing is Munising Falls . It is about a 50 foot waterfall that is close to town and a short walk from the parking lot. The brown water is caused by tannins in the water from various trees (namely pine, hemlock, and cedar).
The valley around the falls is a horseshoe shape, which has been carved out by the spring fed creek falls.
Munising Falls is located inside the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore park, so make sure you have your NPS pass (or pay for entry). The creek from the falls has a lovely babbling brook sound.
