Strawberry picking season
On the last day of strawberry picking season, I (Kate) went picking at Great Scott Farms in Mountain Dora, Florida. It was a lovely day, especially to spend time with a couple girlfriends and their littles (or not so little in one case!). Altogether we had about 14 pounds picked in just over 30 minutes, only covering 2 or 3 rows of the field.
Have you ever heard the adage about how growing your own food positively affects the flavor of food? I can confirm the truth to that. These strawberries were 100 times better than any I’ve picked up in a grocery store, and I only picked them (I didn’t grow them).
