We visited one of the lesser known parks while we were in Sedona - Tuzigoot National Monument . Wow- what a window into the past! This site preserves a 110-room pueblo built by the Sinagua people , who lived here between 1000 and 1400 AD.

Watching the Thunderbirds fly!

Have you ever seen the Thunderbirds fly? They are amazing! We didn’t realize the Thunder & Lightning over Arizona air show was happening during our time in Tucson, so that was a really near surprise! At one point, the Thunderbirds went right over our RV - it was so awesome (and very loud!). These pilots put on a great show!

On the drive around the park in the West/Tucson Mountain district, we stopped at Signal Hill Picnic area and took a short trail up to the largest petroglyph site in the Tucson Mountain District of Saguaro National Park.

The Saguaro Cactus

The Saguaro Cactus (pronounced saw-war-oh) only grows in the Sonoran Desert . This desert is located in Mexico, Arizona, and just a small portion of the Baja peninsula in California. These cacti can grow up to 50 feet tall and live over 200 years!

Tucker's Thoughts on Tuscon KOA

The KOA in Tucson has gravel sites and a concrete road with gravel mixed in, making it rough on dog toes. A smooth concrete border provides a nice transition between the two larger areas. It also gives Tucker a nice walkway that doesn’t hurt his sensitive toes.

Metric system in the USA?!!

Did you know that there is a US Interstate that is only measured using the metric system? Yep! You read that correctly! Interstate 19 in Arizona, which travels from Tucson to Nogales has metric signage and is fully measured using the metric system.
