Exploring a miniature Stonehenge
This Stonehenge was the culmination of a joke between two friends in the 80’s and was donated to the Hill Country Arts Foundation in the 90’s after the owner passed away. Also donated was a 13-foot replica of a Moai from Easter Island.
Stonehenge II is approximately 90% as wide and 60% as tall as the one in Wiltshire, England. The project took the two friends about 11 months to build and is made with steel, metal lath (mesh), and plaster. Each stone is anchored with cement.
