There is so much amazing hiking in the Big Bend area! On one of our last days here, we hiked the Closed Canyon Trail , a trail in Big Bend Rank State Park, about 20 miles west of where we stayed.
This trail is a 1.5mi, progressively difficult hike with the first part being fairly easy and the addition of some light to moderate bouldering further along the trail inside the canyon. While the canyon does reach the Rio Grande, the trail does not.
