Today starts armed forces week
Today starts Armed Forces Week . There is no better way to thank our military for their service and sacrifice than showing some of the tributes from around the country.
While visiting Roswell, NM, we found this POW Iron Cross . While it has a very sordid history - it was built by German POWs being held by the United States near Roswell during WWII - it is a stark reminder that the United States is not the only country whose military members are taken as prisoners during times of war.
In the 1990’s, the city of Roswell turned the surrounding park into a POW-MIA Memorial Park to honor all POW and MIA around the world. They even have a piece of the Berlin Wall on display at the park.
