Visiting Artesia, NM
On one of our last days in Carlsbad, we went to the neighboring town of Artesia. Artesia has been hard at work the last few years working to bring more visitors to the area - you can tell by all the newly installed artwork around town and that various parts are being fixed up very nicely.
As an extra special treat, we ran into Nancy Dunn, one of the members of the Artesia Arts Council . She was working with a local sign maker to add a plaque to a newly installed mural on the Alfalfa Growers building. This work was completed in 2024 by muralist Oscar Hernandez , a Roswell NM artist. His work can be seen throughout towns in south eastern NM and is awesome. We love it when small towns take pride in their city and heritage and Artesia definitely does! Keep up the great work, y’all!
