Visiting our Public Lands
One of the most amazing things we get to see as full-time RVers is the public lands in our great nation . While in Rockport, we drove almost an hour to visit Padre Island National Seashore . It did NOT disappoint. The day we went was very windy, but the beach was clear and sunny.
An interesting fact about Padre Island is that the winds from the gulf blow can blow from all directions, making the beach here a natural collection place for trash. Trash is swept from hundreds of miles away and ends up here along the beach. Major efforts are continuous to ensure that the beaches here are clean. This is a great reminder to always clean up after yourself and to pack out everything you pack in. Leave only footprints, take only photos and memories.
