After seeing a reel about these cinnamon rolls

After seeing a reel about these cinnamon rolls, we just had to try them! We were not disappointed! If you’re ever in Boerne, TX (and, yes, it’s pronounced BERNIE), stop by Richter Bakhaus and check them out!
Spring starts TOMORROW!

One of the things I (Kate) miss most about being in a house is the yard as winter turns to spring. I love to see the progression of the blooming trees and plants. So we make a point in our travels to always find beautiful gardens and arboretums to visit.
And we're off! The start of 2025 travels

And… we’re off! Follow along as we start our 2025 travels leaving out of Brownsville, TX. Thanks to our friends at Rolling Bayou for taking (and sharing) our caravan video!
Cruising The Port of Brownsville

During our last week of “winter”, we went on a cruise of the port of Brownsville . It was really neat to see all the decommissioned ships and hear about how the ships are dismantled and the materials are reused for other purposes. We also got to see some dolphins in the Laguna Madre!
After our tour, we went to capture a photo of the SPI sign. I think we nailed it! @rollingbayou
Trying out local restaurants is a MUST!

Trying out local restaurants is a MUST for us! We ate at a place called Tacos al Vapor (Steamed Tacos). They had pretty yummy food and Mexican Coke! This is part of the Brownsville Taco Trail
Exploring South Padre Island & Isla Blanca Park

We spent a (very windy) morning going over to South Padre Island. At the south end of the island is Isla Blanca county park that has a bronze statue of Jesus and a message inscribed asking God to
Visiting downtown Brownsville, TX

We spent an afternoon walking around downtown Brownsville looking at the public art. There are cities where mural locations are well documented, but Brownsville is not one of them. It took about an hour of researching to find locations on 12 murals. Was it worth it?
Sunsets of South Texas

We had no lack of amazing sunsets while in Brownsville, TX for winter this year. We even went over to South Padre Island to watch the sunset over Laguna Madre one evening. We really lucked out at how beautiful it was that evening!
